Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park?

Parking is available in Lot #1. Please follow the signs. It is closest to the Morris Road entrance. You will be able to enter either off of Dekalb Pike or Morris Road.

Do Running Buddies have to pay registration fee?

Yes, running buddies register and pay, coaches do not register and pay.

Does Septa run directly to the 5K location?

Yes, Septa runs directly to Montgomery County Community College.

What is the difference between a community runner and running buddy?

A community runner is an individual who is solely walking or running our 5K. A running buddy is an individual who is running or walking the 5K while supporting a GOTR participant along the course as she completes the 5K.

Can I bring a jogging stroller?

No, for the safety of all runners.


For safety, all furry friends are not allowed on the course or at the event, so please leave all pets at home on 5K day! All pets will be asked to return to the pet owner's vehicle if spotted at the event.

Can I wear ear buds?

This choice is based on an individual's preference.

The 5K planning committee manages logistics and volunteers for the yearly 5K event, which is the culminating event of each Girls on the Run season. Choose from 4 subcommittees (Health & Wellness Expo, Publicity & Marketing, Sponsorship, and Volunteer) where you feel your talents will shine! We meet once a month at the GOTR office.

5K Packet Assembly Night *Date: Wednesday, May 9, 2018

The 5K packet assembly volunteers manage the logistics and creation of 5K bins and packets.

5K Packet Pick Up Day *Date: Thursday, May 10 & Saturday, May 12, 2018

The 5K Packet Pick Up volunteers manage the distribution of race day packets. You can choose one or both days to volunteer.

Be a Running Buddy!

Lace up your sneakers and get ready for an unforgettable 5K as a running buddy for one of our program participants! A running buddy can be a family member, family friend, teacher, or Girls on the Run coach. You’ll be the support she needs along the course and will share in her joy as she crosses the finish line.
